Claude Haw, P.Eng, ICD.D is President of Venture Coaches, a management consulting and investment firm, and Executive Leader of the Governance and Strategy unit of Business Sherpa Group. He enjoys working with motivated leaders who want to take their company or organization to the next level using global best practices for management, governance and strategy.
Venture Coaches completed investments in twelve technology companies, resulting in four M&As, and two IPOs: DragonWave (TSX and NASDAQ) and ProntoForms (TSX-V). From 2009 to 2011, he was President and CEO of OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Regional Innovation), and has been actively involved with more than 30 companies and organizations over the past three decades from start-up to acquisition and IPO. As Vice-President and General Manager of the Newbridge ATMnet Business Unit, Claude grew the unit from inception to a $200-million-per-annum business and also managed a small investment fund, Severn Bridge Investments.
Claude serves as a Chairman of the Board and committee member (Audit & Finance, Nominating & Governance and Compensation committees) of DragonWave Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Signority. He is also a board member of Edgewater Wireless (TSX.V), Portia International and Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA). Claude is a charter member of TiE Ottawa, a global network of entrepreneurs and professionals, and Co-Chair of the TiECon Canada conference in 2013 and 2014. He is a past board member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association (CVCA), a founder of Mindtrust and The Ottawa Network.
Personal activities include hiking, cycling, skiing, gardening, photography, reading, world travel and genealogy.
