It’s Friday, so we’re back with another Business Sherpa Group (BSG) staff feature! Today we are putting the spotlight on Nick Adamson, a bookkeeper with BSG.
Why BSG?
How did you learn about BSG? What do you enjoy most about working with BSG?
I learned about BSG through fellow colleague Conor Rolland, who has been with BSG for over 5 years now. We had been friends long before he brought me into the company about 3 years ago. I have several favourite things about BSG, including the team, flexible work environment, the amount of learning opportunities available to us, and trying something new every day with our clients.
Typical Workday
What do you do during a typical day? Is there something about your work that you enjoy the most?
I am a practice lead in our bookkeeping practice, but most of my day is outward facing. Interacting with potential clients, onboarding new clients, and learning more about technologies we can use to be more efficient and add better value to our clients.
Staying Motivated
How do you keep motivated during difficult times?
I try to stay as organized as possible, I’m a big list guy, I use a lot of checklists, marking out certain times of my day for just me but also being flexible which we are allowed. Some days you just need to break up your day and when you take the time to focus on yourself for a little while you come back to the team and your clients even better than you were before.
Future Goals
What are your professional goals for the future? For your clients?
I would like to finish up my Bachelor of Commerce and start my CPA, which in turn would help for our clients. I am striving to be better for them every day, always learning, adapting, and finding new technologies to work with.
